Cadet sessions commence in late April and will run, weather permitting until mid October. A full schedule of the dates will be updated on this page. The next sessions in 2012 are as follows:

  • Cadet Parent Training - Please enrol with SYC Office
  • Saturday sessions; will run from 0930 - 1145 and commence on Saturday 28th April
  • Tuesday Sessions; will run from 6pm - 8pm and will commence on Tuesday 8th May.

Cadet racing

We organise a Junior Handicap race every Saturday afternoon and parents of Cadet Racers are asked add their names to the duty list held with Jayne Morris in the SYC Office 842593. Duties may be based on Safety boats, in the Watch House or on Small Beach during racing. Privately owned boats also can enter.

All the club's cadet boats are available to race on Saturday afternoons and in the club's regattas for Cadets with a sufficient level of experience; the boats are there to be used! To book a boat contact the SYC office.

If you do race on a Saturday afternoon please let Jayne Morris in The SYC Office know your name; especially if you have swapped around usual boat numbers. If you do not catch Jayne (Solo 4789) on the beach either email jayne@salcombeyc.org.uk or ring 01548 842593

Use of club boats out of cadet sessions/ racing times

The cadet boats can also be used outside of the formal Tuesday and Saturday sessions without charge; provided that the SYC Office is informed and that you provide your own rescue cover (powered craft).
