SYC Ramble followed by supper at the club
Kingston Erme Loop Approx 4miles
The walk on Feb 4th will be from the Dolphin Inn, Kingston, and will be about 4 miles with the plan to have a snack at the pub afterwards. The pub doesn't open until 2.00pm, so we will meet at 10.30. Parking is available in the pub car park behind the reading room, with a few places available opposite the reading room.
We will gather outside the reading room with a view to head off about 11.00 am. The route goes towards Scobbiscombe Farm and then takes a permissive path around the field boundaries reaching the coast path at Fernycombe Point. We will then follow the coast path up the Erme estuary for a coffee stop on Wonwell beach, so bring coffee and a snack. The path then continues to Wonwell slipway where it leaves the coast and heads uphill through Furzedown wood eventually joining a road back into Kingston. Click here to see route
There are plenty of places for dogs to be off the lead, subject to sheep grazing and being careful where the is a cliff edge. It is dry except for a couple of spots at the moment but if we get rain before the 4th Feb, then there may be a bit more mud around. The terrain is fairly easy but with a fairly steep uphill path through Furzedown wood.
Please could you let me know numbers that are interested in a light bite at the pub via the WhatsApp group.
We can then meet for supper at the club later - this will be served at 6.30pm and bar open from 6pm.
