    Salcombe Yacht Club Summer Series Race 2 - 16th June 2018

    A very blustery Westerly wind made sailing both exciting but challenging as reduced fleet numbers defied the weather forecast and had fantastic blue-sky racing. Race Officer Clive Jacobs took the fleets on a first beat to Blackstone and followed this with an at times hair raising run to the distant Gerston mark which at the bottom of a Spring tide was just about negotiable with raised centreboards.  The wind gusts varied at times from 30

    567422: For the first Saturday in a long time the breeze was up, competitors enjoying a force 4 north easterly at the top of the tide. The Race Officer set a classic ‘around the creeks’ course to make best use of conditions and in the end even the sun came out to round off a great afternoon’s racing.     Salcombe Yacht Club Sailing Club Series Race 7 - 2nd June 2018

    The first Saturday of June produced Salcombe Yacht Club dinghy racing near to its best with both sun and a pleasant estuary breeze. Race officer Nigel Blazeby was able to set a classic low tide race course with an initial beat to Blackstone followed by a very long run to Gerston.     Salcombe Yacht Club Sailng Club Series Race 6 & Coast & Country Yawl Open Race report 26th-28th May

    For the second bank holiday weekend in a row Salcombe was drenched in sunshine and sailors in the Coast and Country Yawl Open Meeting enjoyed three days of competitive, if sometimes frustrating, racing in the Estuary. Easterly winds predominated on Saturday and Monday but on Sunday the sea breeze effect swung the wind direction further south resulting in some light and fluky transition zones in classic Salcombe fashion.  A healthy fleet of

    Cadet Regatta - 31 May - 1 June 2018

    35 Cadets have had an amazing 2 days racing toppers, qubas, fevas and also crewing Yawls!!   • Salcombe Yacht Club Sailing Club Series Race 5

    The 40 plus boats competing in the 5 th race of Salcombe Yacht Club’s Sailing Club Series were treated to fabulous sunshine and light but steady south westerly breeze. Race Officer Peter Hammond dispensed with conventional course setting and sent the fleets out to a mark just past Bar Lodge.
