    Solo Western Area Championships at Salcombe Yacht Club

    On the weekend of October 28 th and 29 th Salcombe hosted the Western Area Championships for the Solo dinghy, the event sponsored by Coast and Country Cottages. Salcombe’s association with Solos dates back to the 1950s thanks to local boat builder and multiple national champion Alec Stone and it is still home to one of the largest Solo fleets in the country.   • Salcombe Yacht Club Autumn Series Race 4

    An early autumn day, with a force two to three southeasterly and bright sunshine encouraged the Salcombe Yacht Club dinghy sailors to enjoy the harbour, now almost clear of the summer RIBs and Boston Whalers.   • 200 Club - Post Regatta Membership

    This has been a great year for the 200 Club in which we have grown from 125 members this time last year to 146 members this year. We have paid out £1200 in prize money at time of writing but have still managed to grow the account. We have had four first-prize winners, six-second prize winners and six third-prize winners.     Land Rover Tour of Rickham Farm

    We are delighted that James and Ann Jones have invited members of Salcombe Yacht Club to visit their farm by open top Land Rover and trailer on Saturday 23rd September. The farm extends from the South Pool Creek at Yalton/Goodshelter across to Limebury Point, east to Gara and includes land above Decklers Cliff at West Prawle.
