Winter Series Final Race, Solo
A small but high quality fleet of Solo sailors gathered on a crisp Saturday morning to contest the last race of the Salcombe Yacht Winter Series. With a light southerly wing and the end of the spring ebb tide, the cognoscenti were gathered to start at the Portlemouth shore, however a small group headed for the Salcombe shore including Chris Turns who arrived at the Blackstone mark with a handsome lead ahead of David Greening. Winter Series, Final Race - Fast Handicap.
Course 1-7-6-2-4 Sailors arriving on Saturday morning for the final Fast Handicap Race of the Winter Series were not fully prepared for what greeted them. Iced-up boats meant that a little defrosting was the first order of the day under sunny skies and a distinct lack of wind.
