Guest Talk - Eyes, Oceans & Offshore Adventures
Eyes, Oceans & Offshore Adventures
Join us at the Club on Friday 6 November, 1900, for an evening combining fascinating insights into eye health with tales of extraordinary offshore sailing.
Were delighted to welcome Sam Evans, a local eye surgeon and founder of Devon Eyes, alongside renowned yachtsman Conrad Humphreys, for an entertaining and informative evening.
Sam will talk about eye health and common ophthalmic conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma and other issues that can affect our vision. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in an informal Q&A with an eye surgeon — a chance to get practical advice on looking after one of our most important assets, whether on land or at sea.
Conrad Humphreys will then take us offshore, sharing stories and experiences from his remarkable sailing career, including his Vende Globe and other ocean adventures. Conrad will also talk about the Bounty Project, an initiative creating sailing opportunities for young people and those with poor vision in the South Hams.
It promises to be an engaging evening bringing together eye health, sailing and adventure, with plenty of opportunity for questions and conversation.
All members and guests are welcome.
Come along, bring your questions and join us for an evening of eyes, oceans and offshore adventure.
