SYC Ramble report for Sunday 24th March

We were blessed with a glorious morning after such horrendous weather recently. Twenty four SYC members met for coffee at The Cove bar and restaurant in Hope Cove.   We walk on the 1st Friday of the month and generally the 3rd Sunday. The intention is to try to walk fairly close to Salcombe on the Sunday walks in order to return for a Sunday roast at the club. However this is not always possible as we are running short of new walks in this area.

Today we chose to walk from Hope Cove, after coffee at The Cove, along the coast path to South Milton Sands. We then turned inland towards Holwell and South Huish walking along a short bit of road and then onto a long track. Once off the track we enjoyed fabulous views across luscious green fields to the coast. We rambled through the delightful hamlets of Holwell, South Huish and Galmpton. We completed the walk along a long ridge down to Inner Hope.
The majority of walkers returned to the club for a well earned Ramblers Roast after a 6 mile walk.
The roast was excellent and we were delighted to be eating in the newly decorated chart room.
We welcome all members to join us; we are a very friendly bunch. We walk during the quieter sailing months of the year from September to the end of April.
