What a glorious sailing day! Wall to wall sunshine greeted a healthy fleet of six Radials and four 4.7s.

A strong incoming tide meant lots of short tacking up the Portlemouth side up to Blackstone. In a F3, but fairly shifty and gusty westerly there were at least two capsizes but we all enjoyed a fast reach to Mark 7 and back in the sunshine.

George Reynolds was first off the line, holding onto a good lead into The Bag, until Ivy Hart closed in and took the lead on the reach to Mark 7. Emily Hoar was also in the mix at this point but lost time tangling with the pontoons on the way back through The Bag, allowing Adam Ryan Carter and Karen Ballantine back in contention.

George re-took the lead in The Bag as Ivy slowed with weed on her foils, but Ivy recovered to beat George over the line, with Allan Willcox not far behind. Meanwhile Emily, Karen and Adam were short tacking and swapping positions up the Portlemouth shore. Karen was 6th over the line, but just pipped Allan into 3rd place on handicap in her 4.7.
