A small but high quality fleet of Solo sailors gathered on a crisp Saturday morning to contest the last race of the Salcombe Yacht Winter Series.
With a light southerly wing and the end of the spring ebb tide, the cognoscenti were gathered to start at the Portlemouth shore, however a small group headed for the Salcombe shore including Chris Turns who arrived at the Blackstone mark with a handsome lead ahead of David Greening.

A trip into Frogmore set the leading group for a tactical and shifty beat to Halwell Point with Dobson, Hodgson, Simon Ballantine and Henderson fighting it out, upon emerging from the Bag, the leaders headed toward Ditch End, while Henderson put in a short tack to Snapes, enabling him to lift over the leading bunch, into the lead, which he maintained to the shortened course finish, to take the win from Dobson and Hodgson.
As a result Will Henderson took the series with straight firsts, from Chris Cleaves and Simon Dobson
