A WINTER WINES OF CALIFORNIA TASTING WITH SUSY ATKINS

Cast off the British winter for an evening and get transported to warmer climes at a premium wines of California tasting with accompanying nibbles.  Join Susy Atkins, Devon-based award winning Sunday Telegraph wine writer and Saturday Kitchen drinks presenter, for an informative, engaging and fun evening at Salcombe Yacht Club on Saturday 18th January 2020 from 7 8.30pm. 

Tickets for the evening wine tasting, which is taking place in association with South West Wine School, are currently available on www.southwestwineschool.co.uk at £20 per person.

Susy says: It is a great novelty to be coming to Salcombe in the depths of winter to feature seven premium Californian wines from famous and top producers and covering the region from Napa Valley to San Francisco Bay and from Sacramento Valley to Navada County.

Susy is familiar to many wine & food lovers as a regular wine expert and presenter on BBC1's flag-ship cookery show Saturday Kitchen, which attracts 2 - 3 million viewers each week. Before that, she was a resident wine expert on Channel 4's Richard & Judy. She has also appeared as a guest on TV's Market Kitchen, UK Food channel programmes such as Great Food Live, and broadcast numerous times on BBC Radio 4 for programmes such as Excess Baggage, Woman's Hour and The Food Programme.

Co-founder of South West Wine School, Jonathan Reynolds says: It is superb to be working with Susy.  She is exceptionally busy writing, presenting and appearing in shows all over the UK and further afield and we are delighted to be offering an evening that all wine drinkers in the region should hastily put in their diaries and book in good time as it really is an opportunity not to be missed. 

Susy has written 11 books on food and wine including Wine Wisdom, How To Choose Wine, Wine Made Easy and the best-selling, fun pocket-book Girls' Guide to Wine. She has won both the Glenfiddich Food & Drink award and the Prix du Champagne Lanson wine writing award for her books. In 2014 she won a prestigious Champagne Louis Roederer International Wine Writers' Award for best short wine column for her work in Stella magazine and in late 2016 she was awarded Rioja Communicator of the Year at the 2nd annual Rioja Recognises awards in London.
