SYC Cadet Sail Away 2023

Friday, 28th July, saw 23 of our Cadets take part in an enjoyable day trip around the Estuary.

The Cadets, along with six safety boats, volunteers and RYA Instructor, Mike White, rigged all the Club boats and set sail from Smalls Beach heading off towards Kingsbridge.

Sailing as a group and stopping at the numbered Race Marks along the way kept everyone together. 

The sun, followed by clear blue skies, made an appearance as they all pitted at a small beach along Frogmore Creek for a mid-way snack.

The final leg of the Kingsbridge-bound sail, ended with the Cadets being met by Parents with provisions for lunch at Bowcombe Bridge.

With bellies full and after an hour of swimming and jumping off the wall, the Cadets made their way back to Salcombe.

This was, despite a few rainy spells, a very enjoyable day for all involved.

Thank you to Mike White and all the volunteers for making it happen and we hope this was the first of many.
