Dartmouth Rally Boat Details, Meal and Pontoon Fees
Salcombe Yacht Club cruiser rally to Dartmouth Saturday 14 May 2022
Following the outstanding success of the Plymouth rally (cruiser/car/whatever), our Dartmouth rally is coming up in just a couple of weeks. We are looking forward to another great get-together, however we get there.
Berthing. This year we are reserving a Dart Harbour pontoon on the Dartmouth (west) side of the river. It is nearby a landing for those wanting to dinghy ashore. The Dartmouth Water taxi will also be operating.
We cannot book berths in advance at Darthaven Marina, or at the Dart Harbour walk ashore pontoon, although there might be some availability come the day if skippers want to take pot luck.
Pontoon party. Nothing planned because access could be a problem. Instead we will gather ashore, see below.
Dinner. The rally dinner on Saturday evening is at the Royal Dart Yacht Club, on the Kingswear (east) side of the river. We will meet on their upstairs terrace for nibbles and drinks from 1830, the dinner to follow at 1930. Depending on numbers we will be in their dining room or their adjacent quarter-deck. It is a super venue with great views over the harbour, looking very fresh inside after a recent redecoration. Drinks can be ordered from the staff to hand and we will also have full access to the bar downstairs and on the quarterdeck if we need it.
Booking for berths
There are currently nearly 20 boats provisionally booked for this event. There will be room for more if need be but there is a limit on the numbers for the pontoon, depending on boat sizes etc.
Dart Harbour berthing and harbour dues for the pontoon we have booked are £19 per night for a 10m boat. Berth booking on our website is set up so you can select your length (rounded up to the next whole metre) and the number of days you want to pay for.
If you are planning to come, in addition to the booking, please let me know via WhatsApp or email (see contacts below) so we dont miss anyone, and although I have some of the details, please provide me the following for your boat: owner/skipper, boat name, overall length, draft, and type (sail/motor/cat). And which day you will arrive and depart on. We will probably arrive on Friday in Jenny T, nothing particular is planned then as yet.
For anyone who has already paid annual Dart Harbour dues, the harbour dues element of the berthing fee will not be payable again. I do not think there is anyone needing a berth in this category, but please contact me separately if there is.
