Cruiser Rally to Dartmouth.

Over the weekend of 12th/14th May 13 boats set sail for our annual Dartmouth Rally.
Several boats arrived on Friday and enjoyed a sunny afternoon after a somewhat bumpy motor sail for all with the exception of the smallest in the fleet, Tilly, who sailed most of the way beautifully without experiencing the crashing and slamming that dogged the rest of us.
Several of us enjoyed a great meal, as always, at Rockfish before settling down for the night. Saturday was another glorious day. Most of the group set of for a quiet stroll, judged to be at least 7 miles when Fitbit data was compared on return! This was lead by the Piggotts who apparently set a lively pace. Some respite was given to allow for a leisurely picnic in a wonderful meadow see photo.
Back on the pontoon we enjoyed tea and scones, an alternative pontoon party which is becoming a bit of a tradition for Dartmouth.
Dartmouth Yacht Club was the venue for our rally meal on Saturday evening providing an excellent meal and a very welcoming atmosphere.
We had hoped to race back on the Sunday morning, competing for the Tony Rowe Challenge Trophy, but the weather had other ideas. A glassy sea and eerie mist accompanied us for the homeward journey with the wind making no appearance whatsoever!
Despite the lack of true sailing it was a great weekend and we are now looking forward to our next rally to Fowey this weekend.
