Fowey Cruiser Rally 2025

Fifteen boats attended the 2025 Fowey Rally from 16th to 18th May where we moored on

the pontoon opposite the Fowey Lifeboat. We feasted on large tasty pasties from a local

bakery on the pontoon on the Friday evening followed by a selection of delicious cakes

and nibbles made by the crews of the boats. The pontoon pasty party lasted until

sundown as we enjoyed the beautiful evening weather.

On the Saturday one group ventured on a six mile walk along the Saints Way to and from

the Fishermans Arms in Golant where a light lunch and refreshments were enjoyed by

all. Another group visited various enchanting private gardens as part of the du Maurier

Fowey Literary Festival. The glorious weather continued and everyone went to Fowey

Gallants Sailing Club for pre-dinner drinks followed by a two or three course dinner

prepared by Denaros in the downstairs dining room at Gallants next to the water.

On the Sunday some boats started their return trip to Salcombe while others extended

the rally by travelling on to the Helford River using the visitors mooring buoys. The

evening was spent in The Shipwrights Arms in the beautiful village of Helford. On the

Monday we walked 5 miles from Helford to St Anthony-In-Meneage for ice creams and

coffee then on to The New Inn at Manaccan for a very tasty lunch before returning to

Helford. The next day four of the boats moved on to Malpas and enjoyed dinner at the

Heron Inn.

The boats that attended the Fowey rally were as follows: Swallow, Aquamarine, Mari,

Jenny T, Mulberry, Shibui, Ardea, Tir Na NOg, Giovanna, Serenity, Aqua, Snow Goose,

Little Dove, Marela and Tosi.

All Salcombe Yacht Club members with a cruising yacht or motor cruiser are welcome to

join the Cruiser section of the club. Please join us on our next rally visiting Dittisham

and Brixham from 6th till the 8th of June followed by the Dartmouth rally from 20th till

22nd June.
