Ollie flying the flag high for SYC

Ollie Meadowcroft has had a summer of success representing SYC in numerous events.  

Since SYC Merlin rocket week when he finished 6th overall and took a race win sailing with Pete Gray, Ollie has enjoyed a number of weeks in big fleets at UK National Championships.  The highlight of which was winning the Firefly National Championships at Lyme Regis in a 74 boat fleet with his crew Hazel Jones.  He then went on to come second in the National Twelve Championships with crew Cally Terkelsen, a regatta he somewhat agonisingly led from the first race until the final lap of the last race, winning three of the seven races including the the prestigious Burton Cup race.

Added to this, a third place overall at the Scorpion Nationals, crewed by Rob Gardener, just beaten by two progressional helms and sixth place at the Merlin Rocket Nationals crewing for Andy Davis.

Its exhausting just to read let alone consider doing it!  And if you want to know his preparation for this.  He ran 150 miles from Geneva to Milan across the Alps in six days during June.
