Guidance Note
Starting Procedure: At the SYC start line.
- 10.55 warning signal (Num 2 up) will be made for the classes starting at 11am.
- 10.56 warning signal (P 2 up)
- 10.59 warning signal (P down)
- 11.00 warning signal (Num 2 down)
Thereafter no flags will be flown, a sound signal will be made to signify the start of the classes listed below at the following times:
One of the SYC patrol boats will be situated in the start area who will be in contact with the RO. It is permitted to request information regarding your start time from this boat if you require it.
If your class isnt listed above, please contact the club by end of play Thursday 29th. A start time won`t be allocated after this date.
Race duration: 90 minutes after the first start at 11am.
Course: Currently the forecast wind direction is easterly so the most likely course will be: 7, 3, to Port, keep repeating until the 90 minutes has elapsed at 12.30. This may change on the day so a different course may be displayed and verbal instructions will be given from the race box and starting area patrol boat.
Finish:
- At 12.30 the race leader will be identified by a SYC patrol boat and a buoy dropped as close to their position as possible.
- The Patrol boat will blow a whistle at 12.30 to indicate the end of the race.
- All other boats will pass between the dropped buoy and the SYC patrol boat. A whistle will indicate they have passed through the line.
