Salcombe Yacht Club Re-opening on the Terrace 4th July
We are delighted to be opening the terrace for drinks on 4th July for members and their guests. This is all new and experimental, so please bear with us while we try to comply with whatever passes for government guidance or regulation.
Service will be by table service only. The bar and the rest of the clubhouse, except for the downstairs toilets will remain closed to all members and visitors.
Depending on weather and demand, a table service of drinks will be available from 4th July, initially:
Wednesday 11am -- 6pm
Thursday 11am 6pm
Friday 11am 9pm
Saturday 11am 9pm
Sunday 11am 3pm
Essentially it is up to you to assess and where necessary, mitigate your own level of risk. What we will be doing is this:
1. The bench tables on the terrace (and extending onto Cliff House terrace) have been laid out to facilitate 2 metre spacing. We have 12 tables.
2. Please wait to be seated. Groups of no more than 6 persons can be accommodated on each table. Members will only be admitted to the terrace if a table is available, and members must be seated before drinks can be ordered or served. Please note that there is a one way system - entering up the SYC main steps from Cliff Road and exiting via the Cliff House steps.
3. Payment will be by credit or debit card only. You may be requested to show your 2020 membership card (available on request from the bar for those who have not yet collected them.) Membership discounts will apply to all bar transactions.
4. Use of the toilets is by token. You must be in possession of a Token (M&F, available from the hooks by the front door) to enter the clubhouse to use the toilets. Please return the Token! We would ask users to sanitise the tokens before and after use, using the sanitiser hanging on the main door.
Your safety and that of staff is paramount so please be patient as we familiarise ourselves with the new modus operandi and please abide by the social distancing rules. We look forward to welcoming you back to Salcombe Yacht Club.
