Fowey Westward Extension 2024

Of the four boats Westward bound, Serenity departed for the Helford to await a weather window with Scilly in her sights. Five days later she was on her way. The Mulberry Aqua Syrinx trio headed off to Falmouth in uncomfortable conditions. Dodman Point seemed to be in view for ever, but at last St Anthony light was a welcome sight. Coffee, wine and cake on Aqua were a lovely after supper treat in Falmouths Pendennis Marina, as we swapped stormy stories! The temptation of Trago Mills couldnt be resisted, once again, during two restful days.

We were treated to the company of enormous superyachts after leaving to go upstream to Malpas. We all squeezed onto Syrinx for a pasta supper and the following day celebrated Grahams birthday. A lovely rural walk into Truro and a bus ride home, followed by jovial drinks onboard Mulberry with dinner at the Heron were all perfect. Early next morning Aqua left for home -a beam reach from Falmouth to Bolt Tail!

The Mulberry Syrinx duo returned south to stay for two days in St Mawes Harbour. We were treated to the amazing sights of the Pilot Cutters Review in wonderful and welcome sunshine. Syrinx felt really at home! After two lovely sunny days spent exploring the St Mawes area, we all motor sailed straight back to Salcombe in light Mediterranean- style conditions having thoroughly enjoyed a well planned and extended rally.
